2027-2036 Watershed Management Plan

60-Day Agency Review Process

On behalf of the Brown’s Creek Watershed District (BCWD) Board of Managers, we are pleased to share the draft 2027–2036 Watershed Management Plan for formal review and comment. This 10-year plan is intended to replace the current BCWD plan, which was adopted in 2016 and last amended in 2018. BCWD prepared this updated plan with input from the public, cities and township, and local, regional, and state partners. It is consistent with Minnesota Statutes 103B and 103D and Minnesota Rules 8410.

Reviewers are referred to MN Statutes 103B.231, Subd. 7 for guidance regarding the review process. Plan reviewers have 60 days from receipt of the draft plan to complete their reviews and provide written comments to BCWD with copies provided to the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR). With distribution of the plan on February 19, 2026, the 60-day review period will end on April 20, 2026.

Following the 60-day review period, BCWD will prepare written responses to the comments received and hold a public hearing at least 10 days following the distribution of the responses to comments consistent with Minnesota Statutes 103B.231 Subd. 7.
