Still Water, Living Lake
Still Water, Living Lake is a free community gathering exploring the healing and recovery of Long Lake through art, ecology, and hands-on learning. Join artists Jennifer Awes Freeman, Playdoh Kolo, and Sharon Mansur for printmaking, puppet-making, and a guided contemplative stroll, alongside watershed biologist Jimmy Marty, who will share live examples of the aquatic plants helping restore the lake’s water quality. Together, these activities invite participants to consider how ecosystems heal, why aquatic vegetation matters, and what the recovery of a lake can teach us about resilience, care, and connection. The event takes place July 25 from 10 AM–2 PM at the Long Lake trailheads on Nightingale Blvd in the Croixwood neighborhood of Stillwater. Rain date is July 26th.
