- i-Public Hearing:
- PLEASE TAKE NOTICE of a public hearing to receive comments on the District’s proposed 2027 Budget and Levy. The District’s proposed total budget for 2027 is $2,428,140, including grants, fees and levy funding sources. The proposed tax levy is $198,890 for the General Fund and $1,097,850 for the Management Plan Project Fund for a total proposed levy of $1,296,740, which is 3.9% increase ($49,000 more) from 2026.
- Draft 2027 Budget
- This draft budget reflects the programs and projects prioritized by the Board of Managers, the community advisory committee, technical advisory committee, and local and state partners while developing the updated 2027-2036 watershed management plan.
- During the August 12, 2026 budget workshop, the board removed $90,000 of levy funding for two projects and one monitoring area:
- Postpone to 2028 or seek 2027 grant funding: reduced levy and budget by $30,000 - Evaluate options to treat stormwater contributions to Brown's Creek and/or Lake McKusick from gate valve in the storm sewer along Neal Avenue (e.g., pre-treatment, split flows between Brown's Creek, Oak Glen Golf Course, and Lake McKusick)
- Postpone to 2028 or seek 2027 grant funding: reduced levy and budget by $52,000 - Long Lake tributary restoration ~ 1,110 LF; canopy thinning and removal of woody invasives; grade control to address remaining incision and reconnect floodplain; restore hydrology in wetland below Boutwell Road.
- Removed from 2027 budget - Reduced levy and budget by $6,000 - Tributary phosphorous sampling - Revisit sampling at the Long Lake inlet, and three locations within the Zephyr tributary for six to eight rain events to evaluate possible sources of phosphorous and recent data trends.
